WHAT? Mahendra Singh Dhoni to make his acting debut with Lokesh Kanagaraj? Details inside

Mumbai (Maharashtra): Mahendra Singh Dhoni is one of the most cherished Indian cricketers who is loved by fans all over the country. The former Indian team captain who retired in 2020 from all formats of international cricket recently forayed into the film world through production. His company, Dhoni entertainment is set to produce a few projects in Telugu cinema and then also take up some Malayalam and Tamil projects which will soon be announced. But now, reports suggest that celebrated filmmaker, Lokesh Kanagaraj wants to bring in Mahi for one of his most anticipated upcoming projects.

According to a report by Indiaglitz, Lokesh is keen to cast Dhoni in one of his highly anticipated projects, marking the cricket player’s acting debut. Reports further stated that the said film is part of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe, LCU which has been formed by the genius filmmaker through his films Kathi (2019) and Vikram (2022). However, other reports also suggest Dhoni’s debut to be with Kanagaraj’s collaboration with Thalapathy Vijay, temporarily titled, Thalapathy 67. Nonetheless, these reports are not officially confirmed yet, so only time will tell the truth behind them.

Meanwhile, Kanagaraj knocked it out of the park with his latest release Vikram which saw three extremely talented actors, Kamal Haasan, Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil come together on the big screen. The film became the highest-grossing Tamil film of all time. After his much-awaited film with Thalapathy Vijay, Kanagaraj is also planning to make a superhero action film with Suriya, titled Irumbu Kai Mayavi based on a famous DC novel. If reports are to be believed, Hombale films, the makers of KGF might be on board for producing the film.
