"What else will losers say?" Ravi Shankar Prasad rebukes Congress for dismissing exit poll predictions

Patna: Former Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad accused the opposition Congress party of hypocrisy for dismissing the exit poll predictions as "fake and fabricated".
Prasad's comments came in response to Congress leaders questioning the credibility of exit polls that predict a victory for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
"What else will losers say? When the same exit poll spoke about Congress' victory in Telangana Assembly elections, then they did not utter a word. Today when there are predictions that PM Modi will be the Prime Minister again, they are annoyed. The same thing is with EVMs. When it is in their favour, they will say it is correct, otherwise not," Prasad said.
"They keep abusing the media, the Election Commission. What can be done if they do not get votes?" he added.
After exit polls prediction showed BJP-led NDA gaining a comfortable majority in the Lok Sabha elections, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh on Sunday termed it as a "Psychological game" and said that there will be a huge difference in exit polls and results on June 4.
"The outgoing PM, the person who will have to leave for sure on June 4 has conspired all these things and has managed the exit polls. There will be a huge difference in exit polls and results of June 4. INDIA bloc had a meeting yesterday, we had detailed discussions on numbers, it's impossible that INDIA alliance will get anything below 295," he said.
"It is wrong to believe the exit polls. They are creating an atmosphere that these people are coming but in reality, these people will go. We have made 114 complaints to the Election Commission, out of which 14 are against PM. No action has been taken against them. Anyone will start laughing after seeing the exit polls in Karnataka. I am a Rajya Sabha MP from there and I know what the ground reality is," Jairam said.
The exit polls on Sunday predicted a landslide victory for the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the Lok Sabha elections.
According to the exit polls, the ruling BJP-led NDA is expected to improve its performance over its 2019 record when it secured 352 seats. The BJP is also predicted to improve its numbers from the 303 seats it won in the 2019 general elections.
2024 Lok Sabha elections were held in seven phases from April 19. The counting of votes will take place on June 4.
