UP rejects VRS of IAS Suresh Chandra

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has rejected VRS of 1989 batch senior IAS officer Suresh Chandra. He is Additional Chief Secretary Labour and Head of Employment Department.

Chandra applied for voluntary retirement from the government in November 2022, but his file was sent back.
Chandra has been elected to the post of Vice-President in the State Public Service Tribunal. That's why he wanted to take VRS and take over the responsibility of the Tribunal, but the govt believes that he can take over this responsibility after January 31, after he retires.

The Uttar Pradesh government has a total of 10 IAS officers of 1989 batch, including Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's ACS Shashi Prakash Goyal, ACS Appointment and Personnel Devesh Chaturvedi, ACS Minority Monika S Garg, ACS Ayush Anuradha Shukla, ACS Finance Prashant Trivedi, ACS Manoj Singh, ACS Amit Mohan Prasad, ACS Suresh Chandra, ACS Sanjay R Bhusreddy, ACS Anil Kumar. Many of these senior IAS officers will retire in 2023.
