UP ATS LANDS BIG FISH: KURBAN ALI

Lucknow: Kurban Ali, who was arrested by a UP ATS team in Kanpur two days ago, was involved in highgrade illegal weapon manufacturing and smuggling, ATS sources here said. Kurban was member of the gang that supplied weapons to criminals and terrorists.

9 yrs back when the gang was busted, the govt began to use unique ID for every weapon licence. Kurban Ali was a member of this gang in which arms dealers of Lucknow, Kanpur, Bareilly, Gwalior and Auraiya were involved.

They used to sell fake branded weapons for ` 15 to 20 lakh. Another criminal involved in making fake Llama and Beretta arms was Alvin, who was then with Indian Airlines and helped in smuggling parts of pistols and other weapons
