UDH MIN DHARIWAL TO ADDRESS SLUM REGULARISATION THROUGH NEW POLICY

Jaipur: The Rajasthan Government will formulate a new policy for the regulation of kutcha settlements in the state. The decision was taken in a meeting chaired by UDH minister Shanti Dhariwal.

He instructed officials to prepare the draft of the policy while considering a high court order in the Bhanwar Singh case.

UDH will send the proposal for approval to the cabinet. Sources said for regularizing, the cut-off date can be revised from 15.8.2009 to December 18.

Also, the condition of not selling the plot for 10 years can also be removed. At the same time, exercise is going on to increase the cut-off date for the regulation of colonies settled on agricultural land.

The existing cut-off date is 17th June 99, which may now be changed to December 2018. Officers said that changes in the Land Revenue Act are necessary to increase the date which will provide relief to thousands of plot holders.

Sources said that the ratio will also be revised to 70:30 instead of 60:40 in plot and facility area. Also, less amount will have to be given to get the lease of the plot.

In the meeting, attended by principal secretary UDH Kunji Lal Meena, JDA commissioner Gaurav Goyal Housing Board Commissioner Pawan Arora, and others, several other issues related to Prashasan Shehron ke Sang were discussed.

Meanwhile, relief was given to applicant in transfer of name and grant of lease, etc. Under this, a detailed advertisement will not be published and the name and other details of the applicant will not be published.
