Tonk jail controversy: 2 cops suspended; Cyber Cell probes viral video
Tonk: A major controversy erupted after an edited video of Shadab, a murder accused and undertrial prisoner, surfaced, showing him smoking a cigarette in jail.
Following this, SP Vikas Sangwan suspended two police officers, Head Constable Dashrath and Constable Bhanwar Singh, for negligence during duty. The matter has been taken seriously, with the investigation now being handled by the Cyber Cell under Deputy SP Devendra Jakhar. Jail Superintendent Vaibhav Bhardwaj clarified that the video was not shot inside the jail and claimed it was filmed outside the Tonk jail. He added that the accused was transferred to an authorized hospital ward. Further investigations are ongoing.
