THE NEW COLLECTIVE LEADERSHIP!

Under a Narendra Modi Amit Shah mandate, a new collective leadership of Shinde and Fadnavis has taken over the reins of Maharashtra, the state that is home to India’s commercial capital of Mumbai, on June 30. In fact, it was a moment of some sort of a mental humiliation for the top Maharashtra man— Fadnavis--because of an eleventhhour U-turn by New Delhi. At face value, this new team looks to be a “united front” but insiders are not confident of smooth sailing in the long run. One major reason is that the “remote control” of this government will likely remain in the hands of Fadnavis, with a discreet understanding with the central agencies that Fadnavis’s position will be unmatchable. Fadnavis will likely emerge as the only “gainer” in the long run. According to sources in the larger scheme of things, Fadnavis may be asked to retain the charge of home portfolio. Political observers added that the the higher IAS and IPS echelons will be also more in tune and comfortable with an experienced and dignified Fadnavis because of his earlier stint as CM. Now, as things stand the Un-Common Man CM Eknath Shinde has joined with Maha BJP Chanakya Devendra Fadnavis for a Double-Engine Sarkar.
