Taking the lead, Bhilwara registers 29 FIRs, recovers fine of Rs 6.29L in six days

Jaipur: Bhilwara has taken a lead in acting against illegal mining under the special campaign with registering 29 FIRs and recovering a penalty of 6.29 lakh after seizing 628 tonnes of minerals and 47 vehicles in six days.

At the same time, Jaipur appeared to have done formality with just one FIR and no seizure of minerals. However, a maximum of 59 cases of illegal mining were caught in Jaipur but only one FIR was lodged. In Bhilwara, 53 cases were caught and 29 police cases were registered. Known for illegal mining, Alwar and Sikar performed poorly.

Similarly, the campaign appeared as a formality in Dausa and Tonk also. Sources said that the districts where the campaign was run mostly on papers come under superintending engineer, Jaipur zone’s jurisdiction.
