Take affidavit of no-dues of fine before retirement: CS Arya
Jaipur: Chief Secretary Niranjan Arya has made it mandatory for the head of every department to take an affidavit of no-due of fine imposed by the Information Commission before the retirement of subordinate officers.
The government swung into action after a news was run by First India News on 23 September about the fines due on 1723 serving and retired officers.
Arya issued a circular saying that officers will have to give an affidavit at the time of retirement about no-dues of fine.
The affidavit will be given to the head of the department.
Along with this, Ary has instructed all the departments to recover the outstanding fine or compensation amount from the salary or pension from the concerned officers by November 15.
First India News, in its exclusive report on 23 September, had said that a total of Rs 2.15 crore fine imposed by the State Information Commission against 1723 serving and former public information officers is yet to be recovered.
