Swara Bhasker takes a dig at filmmakers who called her “too controversial” with a fun reel

Mumbai (Maharashtra): Swara Bhasker is a fierce personality that does not shy away from speaking her mind. She has always made controversial statements but never backed away from her word. Taking a dig at all the producers and filmmakers that find her too controversial to offer her films, she posted a fun reel on her Instagram. She followed the recent dance trend and made a fun spoof out of it.

Wearing a beautiful yellow saree with a pink blouse, Swara looked beautiful along with a beautiful bun with flowers in it. She started the reel with the sentence “Producers be like: She is too controversial!”. Just when the beat drops, the reel transitions to Swara dancing with the sentence “Moi: More publicity for my film” written beneath. This was an indirect taunt to the film fraternity that has deemed the actor controversial in the past.

In an exclusive chat with us, the Veere Di Wedding actor opened up about how she grew up in an environment where she was taught that speaking up is important. “I have grown up in an environment where my parents have given me the freedom to express myself and where critical thinking was always encouraged. I feel what I speak and I believe in whatever I say. So when one speaks what they feel they are bound to criticism. But at the same time, I feel since it’s my opinion to look at the world the way I want to I will not back out from my opinion. People have become intolerant today. But I believe it's a phase and this too shall pass,” she said.

She also revealed how her opinions have affected her career. She said, “People have told me “Achi actress ho bolti kyun ho”  so the industry has this tendency where they only want the actresses to act and look good on screen while they shouldn’t be heard. I believe to perform a particular character it's very important to know and understand the practicality.”
