Suniel Shetty: Bollywood is not filled with druggies

Mumbai (Maharashtra): Suniel Shetty has always been an open-minded star who never fails to speak his mind. The actor has not only impressed critics and fans with his incredible performances but also through his words of wisdom. On the occasion of International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, Suniel Shetty graced an event organized by the CBI. The actor there spoke on various issues related to drugs and went on to state that Bollywood is not filled with druggies.

He cited the recent outpour of criticism after several Bollywood actors were being called in by police in regards to drug abuse and trafficking. The actor said, “Bollywood is not filled with druggies. Galtiyan hum karte hain unhe bhi bachchon ki tarah dekh ke maaf kijiyega. He also spoke about the #BoycottBollywood trend and said, “#BoycottBollywood #BollywoodDruggies vaisa hai nahi.”

He further mentioned that in his career of 30 years, he has had 300 friends in the industry but has never seen anyone abuse drugs. “Ek galti kardo toh chor hai, dakait hai. Main 30 saal se industry mein hun aur 300 dost hain mere jinhone zindagi mein kabhi kuch kia nahi hai,” he said.

In the span of lockdown, several actors including Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor, Ananya Panday, Sara Ali Khan and others were called in for questioning regarding drugs. Shah Rukh Khan’s eldest son, Aryan Khan was arrested by the NCB regarding drug trafficking and consumption. He was later given bail after almost a month and was cleared of all charges recently.

Shraddha Kapoor’s elder brother Siddhanth Kapoor was also arrested by the Bengaluru police after he was caught at a rave party and his drug test results came positive. He was released on bail the next day.
