SSB AVERTS HUMAN TRAFFICKING; ACCUSED HELD

Bahraich: SSB personnel posted at the Rupaidiha Nepal border here arrested a human trafficker who was taking a girl of Nepali origin to Ahmedabad. The rescued girl has been handed over to the Nepal Police by the SSB and it is learned that the girl has been given to the NGO, Shakti Samuha. The India-Nepal border is famous for being a free route for human traffickers. In many cases, SSB personnel have freed girls from the clutches of human traffickers. Recently, SSB jawans saved a Nepali girl who was travelling along with a man named Hari Hamal, a resident of district Surkhet in Nepal. The SSB jawans apprehended the man on suspicion and during interrogation, the man confessed that he had planned to take the girl to Ahmedabad on the pretext of getting her work. The arrested accused confessed that he has been involved in human trafficking.
