Sowing of crops increased due to good rains: Gehlot

Jaipur: Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said on Thursday that sowing of crops increased due to good rains in June-July, while the demand for electricity has increased significantly due to less rains and heat in August.

“Also, low supply of coal has also led to a gap in electricity demand and supply. Despite this, the state government is making every possible effort to ensure uninterrupted supply. There will be no reduction in supply in the coming months also,” Gehlot took a review meeting of power supply in the state at the CMR on Thursday. The Chief Minister directed the officials to ensure uninterrupted power supply, reduce unavoidable cuts and make cuts only after prior information to the consumers. He said that adequate power supply for domestic consumers as well as agriculture is the priority of the state govt.
