SIT to probe Jalore student death; AAP meets Guv, demands Rs 1 crore for family

Jaipur: A special investigation team (SIT) has been set up to probe the death of Indra Meghwal, a nineyear-old boy who was allegedly beaten up by the teacher for touching a water pot in the school, in Jalore’s Surana village. The SIT was formed after the orders given by P Ramjee, IG, Jodhpur range. Sirohi ASP Devaram Choudhary will head the team. Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party’s Rajasthan unit handed over a representation to Governor Kalraj Mishra on the death of a minor dalit boy in Jalore and demanded justice for the victim’s family. In charge of the state and Delhi MLA Vinay Mishra said that the demands of the family are justified and the state government should work on them. He demanded a compensation of Rs 1 crore for the family. “Atrocities against Dalits and tribals have increased in Rajasthan under the Congress rule. The family should be given a compensation of Rs 1 crore,” he said.
