Shinde calls on Rana to end ‘feud’ with Kadu!

Mumbai: In what could be a major political development, highly placed sources in the state government revealed on Saturday that Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has called Independent legislator Ravi Rana to meet him on Sunday over the latter’s ongoing tussle with Prahar Janshakti Party MLA Bacchu Kadu.

Those familiar with the development say CM Shinde is likely to attempt to pacify Rana in a bid to convince him to end the standoff with Kadu who, incidentally, supports the current Maharashtra government.

The worry is that the next few days could be difficult, they say, adding that the dispute between Rana and Kadu could even destabilize the state government in Maharashtra.

Rana had alleged that Bacchu Kadu had accepted a bribe from the Shinde camp to switch sides from the Uddhav government and also to end farmer's agitation. In response, Kadu threatened to “take a decision” along with eight other MLAs unless CM Shinde and his deputy Devendra Fadnavis counter Rana’s allegations or Rana gives evidence.

Kadu had given the leaders time till November 01 and Saturday’s development is being seen to be in connection with the ultimatum.
