Shahid Kapoor to sign with Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films for a love story

Mumbai (Maharashtra): Shahid Kapoor is an actor who can portray a given role with the same dedication and ease. He is versatile and someone who does not create any hype around his projects and lets his work speak. The actor currently has several projects lined up for the year and next year with Ali Abbas Zafar’s action thriller and Raj and DK’s OTT film, ‘Farzi’. Now, according to a report by Pinkvilla, the actor has signed up with Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films for the first time.

A source close to the development revealed that the film will be a unique one-of-its-kind love story while stating, “Shahid Kapoor has been discussing a probable collaboration with Dinesh Vijan for a while now and the things have finally fallen in place. The actor has loved a subject and already signed the dotted lines. It's slated to go on floors in the last quarter of 2022.”

“It's Maddock's biggest love story to date. The yet untitled film will be shot in India and abroad. The makers are looking to shoot in Mumbai, Delhi and multiple European countries. The pre-production work has already begun, with multiple teams going on a recce,” the source added. The director’s name for the film has not been disclosed yet.

Currently, Maddock has many projects under its wing including Bhediya starring Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon and Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan’s untitled film directed by Laxman Uttekar. The shoot for their 2023 project, ‘Tehran’ starring John Abraham and Manushi Chhillar is ongoing.

Shahid Kapoor was last seen in his theatrical release, ‘Jersey’ this year, alongside Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapur. Based on the Telugu film with the same name, the sports drama underperformed at the box office but Shahid’s performance in the film was highly applauded by critics and fans.
