Shahi 'firman' subdues 'land wars' in neighbouring states!

New Delhi: With the crescendo around the border row between Maharashtra and Karnataka rising to a new high, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, on Wednesday evening, ‘brokered’ peace between the two neighbouring states as he chaired a meeting with Chief Minister of Maharashtra and Karnataka - Eknath Shinde and Basavaraj Bommai respectively - in New Delhi. During the meeting, Maharashtra deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis and Karnataka Home Minister Araga Jnanendra were also present. Shah has strictly told the leaders that no state will make claim to another’s territory untill the time the Supreme Court makes a decision on the issue. Notably, Shah has also dictated to the leaders that “Both states have agreed to form a committee headed by one senior IPS officer regarding this matter so that constitutional norms are followed and law and order is maintained in both states so that outsiders and locals don’t face any problem.”

It has been learnt that Shah clearly told the leaders that six ministers, three from each state, will sit and discuss the various issues that are present between the neighbouring states. Moreover the Union Home Minister also commented on the role of the opposition parties in both the states and claimed that the social media played amajor role in stoking emotions. “Some fake Twitter (handles) mentioning top leaders were spread… and this issue is very serious… It has been decided that wherever these cases have come out, FIR will be registered and those who have done it will be exposed in front of the public,” he said. He also appealed to the opposition parties not to make the matter into a political issue, ‘for the welfare of people of both the state’.
