Sanjana Sanghi hails Katrina Kaif as torchbearer of action films in Bollywood

Mumbai (Maharashtra): Sanjana Sanghi has had a great journey in Bollywood where she went from a small role in a big film to now being the main lead of a massive movie! Though not her favourite genre, Sanjana performed some kick-ass action in ‘Rashtra Kavach OM’. Talking to a media publication, Sanjana mentioned that she was forced to watch action films by her brother and her friends when she was younger. Stating that though the boys would be enamoured by Scarlett Johansson, Jennifer Lawrence and Lara Croft, she wondered if being this stunning and powerful was even possible.

When asked about her role model in the industry, Sanjana said that though there aren’t many who have tried their hands on full-fledged action films, she hailed Katrina Kaif. The Dil Bechara actress further went on to call Kat ‘the torchbearer of action films’ in Bollywood. Talking about women’s roles in Bollywood films, she thanked actresses Vidya Balan, Deepika Padukone, and Taapsee Pannu for paving a better path for women in the industry where now they are viewed as full people and are bankable stars.

Sanjana Sanghi is currently gearing up for the release of her next film, ‘Dhak Dhak’ also starring Fatima Sana Shaikh, Ratna Pathak Shah and Dia Mirza.
