‘Rs 75K cr investment, 1L jobs in UP’

Lucknow: Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s handiwork in taking nation ahead over past nine years, Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) managing director Mukesh Ambani stated on Friday at the UP Global Investors’ Summit 2023 that a bold New India is taking shape ‘Guided by your vision, and driven by your laser-sharp focus on execution. An India which will fulfil the aspirations of its 1.4 billion citizens. Modi ji, you have aptly said that India has now entered its Amrit Kaal.’

Stressing that the nation is changing visa-vis the rural-urban divide, and that Uttar Pradesh is a “shining example” of this, the billionaire businessman announced that RIL will invest ₹75,000 crore in the next four years in rolling out 5G mobile telephony services, expanding retail networks, and establishing renewable energy capacity in Uttar Pradesh. “Till now we have invested Rs 50,000 crores in UP and our investments have generated over 80,000 direct and indirect jobs in the state. Today, I am happy to announce that we plan to invest an additional Rs. 75,000 crore which will create over 1 lakh jobs in the state,” he said.
