Religious unity, Opposition unity need of hour: Gehlot

New Delhi: A day before Congress’ ‘Hall Bol’ rally, CM Ashok Gehlot reached Delhi to take stock of preps and to speardhead grand-old party’s attack on Centre.

Firing salvos at BJP, Gehlot, while interacting with media at Delhi Airport, said, “The country’s economy is at a low level and the Central government is hiding economy figures. People of the country know what is happening in the country today. On Sunday Congress will hold a historic rally at Ramlila Maidan.”

Stressing that ‘Congress is acting as the voice of the country’, Gehlot further added, “BJP can’t make a Congressmukt India. The views of Congress are in the DNA of the people of the country. Winning an election or loosing an election is a different matter. Cong has given a lot India.

Speaking about rally, the senior leader said, “Today there will be a Cong’s historic rally in Delhi & there is great enthusiasm among people. Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ is being discussed across the country. Today people are being pitched against each other in the name of religion. Democracy is in danger in the country today, it is being murdered. BJP wants to change the Constitution. Rahul Gandhi is the only leader, who is fighting the BJP. It’s high time that Opposition should unite. Congress has seen tough times.”

Gehlot claimed that for masses, inflation, unemployment & the GST are big issues. “Public is sad & that’s why rally to be held on today is about these issues. After this rally, there is a program of Rahul Gandhi on 5th in Gujarat and an extremely good atmosphere has been created there regarding Congress,” he said.
