BJP WALKSOUT OF HOUSE OVER MINORITY CERTIFICATE ISSUANCE, CORNERS GOVT

Jaipur: BJP staged a walkout from the House on Monday after an uproar, alleging that it was promoting conversions on the pretext of simplification in issuance of minority certificates.

Leader of opposition Gulab Chand Kataria and BJP MLA Shankar Singh Rawat raised the matter through attention motion.

Kataria said that Minority Welfare Minister Shale Mohammad has written a letter to the collector and ordered issuing minority certificates on the basis of OBC certificates.

Kataria said that the minority certificate on the basis of OBC certificate or affidavit to people belonging to Cheetah, Mehrat, Kaath castes amounts to luring them into conversion.

Mohammad Shale replied that the process of making the certificate is already set. Action is taken on the wrong issuance of certificates.
