Ranbir and Shahid in the race to bag the biopic on Dr Chempakaran Pillai

Mumbai (Maharashtra): A biopic on the life of icon, Dr Chempakaran Pillai is in the works currently and many names have emerged so far on who would play the lead role. Although it was previously noted that R Madhavan may step in, more actors have joined the race for bagging the lead role. Now, Shahid Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor may take on the lead role as the makers are toying with the idea of casting one of these three leading Bollywood stars, according to News18.

Producers Anjum Rizvi, Raghavendra N and Riju Bajaj are working closely on the project and Rajesh Touchriver is reported to helm this film. The film will trace the life experiences of Dr Chempakaran Pillai, who is credited for coining the term ‘Jai Hind’.

Workwise, all three actors are busy with their respective schedules with Ranbir gearing up for the release of his film Brahmastra alongside Alia Bhatt, Nagarjuna, Amitabh Bachchan and Mouni Roy. He also has Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal with Rashmika Mandanna and an untitled Luv Ranjan project with Shraddha Kapoor. Meanwhile, Shahid Kapoor is working on his OTT debut with Raj and DK’s series and Arjun too has a number of projects lined up including Kuttey and Lady Killer.
