Rajkummar Rao remembers being in shock after reporter delivered the news of Sushant’s death

Mumbai (Maharashtra): Rajkummar Rao and Sushant Singh Rajput shared a beautiful friendship with each other since their first film together, Kai Po Che. The duo was seen on the screen again in Raabta in 2017. It was a known fact that both of them were fond of each other. While promoting his upcoming film ‘HIT – The First Case’, Rajkummar remembered the day when a journalist informed him about the death of SSR.

The actor revealed that he was numb and could not believe the news. He said that it took him several days to get over the reality of the passing away of his friend. While talking to Mashable India, the actor said, “It was heart-breaking. I still remember I was at home and was about to have lunch. I got a call on my landline number a few times and I picked up. A journalist was there and she broke the news to me. I could not believe it.” He further revealed that he could not eat anything after hearing the news as he got very emotional.

Rajkummar Rao did not react to the news of Rajput’s death for a while but made sure to post the trailer of his then-releasing film ‘Dil Bechara; with the caption, “Will always be in our hearts”. He also wrote a heartfelt note last year dedicated to Sushant as their film Kai Po Che completed 8 years.
