Rajkummar Rao accepts nepotism will always remain in Bollywood

Mumbai (Maharashtra): Rajkummar Rao is one of the most sought-after Bollywood actors and has delivered some stellar performances through an array of work. He is one of the few examples that have made it in Bollywood, not through contacts but sheer hard work. Coming from a non-film background, Rao states his opinion that though nepotism in Bollywood is unavoidable, the OTT platform has given a chance to many of his classmates.

Rajkummar accepted that nepotism will always remain in Bollywood but one’s work and talent have to do all the talking for them. He added that streaming platforms are providing recognition to many of his classmates. He mentioned Jaideep Ahlawat who was applauded for his commendable performance in Amazon Prime’s ‘Pataal Lok’ and took the name of Pratik Gandhi as well for the widespread recognition he received for his role as Harshad Mehta in ‘Scam 1992’.

Rajkummar Rao won substantial praise for his supporting roles in films like ‘Gangs of Wasseypur 2’ and ‘Talaash: The Search Within’. The actor who is an FTII alumnus made his acting debut through the anthology ‘Love, Sex Aur Dhoka’ and till now has delivered many critically acclaimed performances while also winning a National Award for his role in the social drama ‘Shahid’. His next release is ‘HIT – The First Case’ alongside Sanya Malhotra. It is the remake of the Telugu film with the same name and will release in theatres on July 15.
