Raj HC Bar polls see 87.8% turnout, counting today
Jaipur: The Rajasthan High Court Bar Association’s annual elections were held peacefully on Friday, with voting taking place for 17 positions, including the president and general secretary. A total of 58 candidates contested for these positions, and their fate is now sealed in the ballot boxes. Of the 5,716 eligible voters, 5,017 cast their votes, marking a voter turnout of 87.80%. In addition, three tender votes were also counted, bringing the total to 5,020 votes.
The election was conducted under strict surveillance with 16 CCTV cameras monitoring the process, and LED screens were set up for real-time updates of the counting room activities. The vote counting will begin at 10 am on Saturday in the Satish Chandra Sabhagar. Meanwhile, similar elections are being held across 230 Bar Associations in the state, in compliance with orders from the Supreme Court and High Court. A total of 74 candidates are vying for 22 positions across the state.
