Raj gets coal booster from Centre

Jaipur: In a relief for Rajasthan Vidyut Utpadan Nigam, the Union power ministry has recommended to provide coal under bridge linkage and instantaneous linkage for thermal power plants of Rajasthan.

Additional CS Energy Subodh Agarwal informed that the recommendation of the union ministry as a result of the CM Ashok Gehlot has paved the way for the availability of coal for the thermal power plants of the state.

He said that due to delay in sanction by Chhattisgarh government for mining coal, there was a shortage of coal in the state.

Agarwal informed that the state government has effectively urged the Union ministry of power to allocate 24.4 million metric tonnes of coal per annum and urged for alternative arrangement of coal for Rajasthan.

He expressed hope that in the coming days, additional coal will be allocated to Raj. Officer said that the CM has been serious about coal availability
