Pune: Four injured in alleged drunk driving incident

Pune (Maharashtra): On Thursday night, a disturbing incident unfolded at Jagtap Dairy Chowk in Pimpri Chinchwad, Pune district, leaving four individuals injured.

According to the police officials, chaos ensued when a man purportedly driving under the influence of alcohol lost control of his SUV, resulting in his vehicle colliding with a roadside divider. Subsequently, one of the SUV's wheels careened into an autorickshaw occupied by passengers.

The police have apprehended the SUV driver, whose alleged intoxication is suspected to have contributed to the accident.

Earlier in May, a similar incident involving a high-end luxury vehicle garnered widespread media attention where an allegedly intoxicated teen claimed the lives of two in Pune.
