Proposal for new city in Kota sent to the Centre

Jaipur: The State Government has sent a proposal to the Central Government to build a new city in Kota, the home district of Urban Development Minister Shanti Dhariwal. Eight new cities are to be developed across the country for which the Centre will give Rs 750 crore for each city. Earlier, the land was identified in Shambhupura of Kota but plans for Kota UIT are already proposed there. Now, 150 hectares land has been identified in village Ranpur of Kota. The Centre has announced to give Rs 6,000 crore to the states under the incentive scheme in the field of urban development with which eight new cities will be developed across the country. However, this amount will be used only for Viability Gap Funding (VGF) for the development of cities. The state govt had first identified Jaipur, Pali, Kishangarh, Barmer and Kota. Out of these five, the first two cities Pali & Kota were chosen for setting up the city. 200 hectares of land was identified at Rohat in Pali. 412 hectares of land in Kota’s Shambhupura was identified for the development of new city
