Promotion on the cards for over 70 IPS officers from UP

Lucknow: With the coming of new years 2023, the Uttar Praesh bureaucracy will witness promotion of more than 70 IPS officers of the state. In this, ‘captains’ of 5 districts of UP will become DIGs and 5 DIGs will also be promoted as IGs. Although there is no vacancy in the rank of DG from ADG, some officers will not be able to get the benefit of promotion, but those servinng currently as IG, will get the benefit of promotion in the rank of ADG. In the IPS officers who are to be promoted in UP, 9 IPS officers of 2019 batch will become SP from ASP. Moreover, the names of 11 IPS officers of 2009 batch will be considered.

Bahraich SP KK Chaudhary, Jaunpur SP Ajay Kumar Sahni, Bareilly SSP Akhilesh Kumar Chaurasia, Pilibhit SP Dinesh P and Ghaziabad SSP Muniraj are sure to get promoted. This year only 6 DIGs, of 2005 batch, will be able to become IG. Aligarh Range DIG Deepak Kumar, Gorakhpur Range DIG J Ravinder Gour, Basti Range DIG RK Bhardwaj, Devipatan DIG Upendra Agarwal and Azamgarh DIG Akhilesh Kumar are the officers whose names have been included in the promotion list.
