Preparations on for ERCP’s Nonera Abra Dam gate testing

Itawa (Kota): The first dam of the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP) scheme is ready and the testing of gates in Nonera Abra Dam is in the pipeline. The process of filling water started past Saturday midnight and will continue for five days after which the gate will be tested. Before ERCP, 27 gates had been installed in Nonera Abra Dam. The dam will have a filling capacity of 226.65 cubic metres.

The water resources department has completed preparations for testing the dam. State Highway-70 Kota-Etawah will remain closed for five days. The administration will stop the movement of vehicles by installing barricades as there is a possibility of water coming on the culvert after the dam is filled.
