Power generation has improved: ACS

Jaipur: Additional Chief Secretary Energy Subodh Agarwal while reviewing the works of Rajasthan Vidyut Utpadan Nigam at Vidyut Bhawan on Tuesday said power generation has improved in the state.

“Coal based thermal power plants in the state generate 7,330 MW of power as compared to 3,465 MW generated when the state was reeling under the coal crisis.

Agarwal appreciated the efforts made at the production corporation level and congratulated all the officers and personnel, including CMD, Rajasthan Vidyut Utpadan Nigam, RK Sharma.

Agarwal stressed on the need to prepare an action plan for thermal power plants and hydro and other technology based power generation projects to reduce dependence on coal.

CMD Sharma said that Vidyut Utpadan Nigam has 8597 MW capacity installed in the state for thermal, gas, hydraulic and lignite based power generation.
