PM Modi promises unlimited funds for development

Mumbai: The BJP high command in new Delhi has prescribed fresh faces in the Maharashtra council of ministers in interactions with Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis over Friday and Saturday. While Fadnavis told reporters on Saturday that the series of meetings, with Union Ministers Amit Shah (Home), Rajnath Singh (Defence), Ashwini Vaishnaw (Railways), BJP national president JP Nadda and then, Prime Minister Narendra Modi were courtesy calls, nothing could be further than the truth. PM Modi assured the Maharashtra duo of unlimited funding for development projects in the state without any hitches whatsoever. The PM encouraged the CM and Dy CM to focus their work on the ‘Hindutva and development’ model for their tenure until state assemblies.

“It is correct to say that the Maharashtra leaders met the BJP leadership to solicit their blessings for the new government. However, the PM and HM certainly offered them advice on the Hindutva and Development agenda as the political course and direction for the future. The BJP is in mission mode for the 2024 general elections on a war footing,” a senior BJP leader told First India. During the almosttwo-hour-long meeting, Shah spent a substantial time conversing with Fadnavis, recommending that fresh faces needed to find a place in the new council of ministers without ignoring highly experienced BJP workers who have missed out on cabinet portfolios so far. Shah was meeting Fadnavis for the first time since the MVA government was toppled. Shah also had good advice for CM Shinde, who leads a political grouping of over 50 MLAs (including Shiv Sena rebels and independents), on establishing a political system for his group to be able to maintain consensus and sustain the alliance government.
Nadda’s meeting with the Maharashtra duo also witnessed discussions with Fadnavis on organizational changes needed, including the appointment of a new state president so that Chandrakant Dada Patil could be relieved of his post to take up an assignment in the council of ministers.
