Pilot detained with supporters, terms the act ‘despicable’

New Delhi: Congress leaders continue their protest in Delhi against the ED questioning of Rahul Gandhi. Heavy police force has been deployed outside the national headquarters of the Congress and no leader is being allowed inside the Congress headquarters in Delhi.

On Wednesday, former Rajasthan Deputy CM Sachin Pilot was taken into custody by Delhi Police along with supporting MLAs and leaders.

Pilot was taken to Narela police station along with his supporters when he was headed to the AICC office. During this, pro-Pilot MLAs Mukesh Bhakar and Vedprakash Solanki, clashed with the police. After a clash with the police, Pilot was taken into custody along with the supporting MLAs and taken to Narela police station in a police van. A large number of Congress leaders-workers including Sachin Pilot, MLA Mukesh Bhakar, Vedprakash Solanki, Vipra Kalyan Board President Mahesh Sharma, youth leader Abhimanyu Poonia and Anil Chopra were detained.

Sachin Pilot, while interacting with media, said, “We were trying to go to our party office, we were detained before going to the party headquarters. Can’t we just go to our party headquarters, this is wrong in a democracy. This is despicable. We will continue our struggle. Central government has resorted to dictatorship but Congress worker is not going to be afraid.”
