Mumbai/Satara/Karad: Lok Sabha MP Sunil Tatkare was appointed Maharashtra NCP unit chief by the Ajit Pawar faction on Monday. Addressing a press conference in Mumbai, Praful Patel, part of the rebel NCP faction, said Jayant Patil has been removed from the post of state president and Sunil Tatkare has been appointed state party chief.
Meanwhile, NCP working president Supriya Sule sought the disqualification of MPs Sunil Tatkare and Praful Patel for indulging in “anti-party activities” in following the induction of Ajit Pawar and eight MLAs into the Eknath Shinde-led Maharashtra government.
The Sharad Pawar faction also expelled 3 leaders — Shivaji Rao Garje, regional GS of the party, Vijay Deshmukh, Akola City District President of party, Narendra Rane, working chief of Mumbai division.
