ONE HELD IN CASE AGAINST 12 GOVT OFFICIALS FOR CORRUPTION IN GORAKHPUR

Police have registered a case against 12 officials of Stamp and Registry, Regional Transport Office (RTO) under corruption charges, and one accused was arrested while the manhunt was launched to nab the other accused.

Police sources said that the case was registered in Cantt and Shahpur police stations on orders of the district magistrate. Several complaints of corruption were received from both government offices.

It was reported that officials were openly asking for bribes for any departmental work. On directions of DM, investigation was launched and Tehsildar probed the issue. The corrupt officials were identified and their corruption was recorded.

After evidence, a case was registered against the accused officials who are deputy registrar KK Tewari, Vijay Mishra, Ashok Upadhyay, Jitendra Jaiswal, Rajeshwar of the Registry department.

Dr Vipin Tada, senior superintendent of police said that accused Vijay Mishra was arrested while raids were being conducted to nab other accused. Names of more corrupt officials can be included after an interrogation with the accused.
