North Western Railway records rise in crime compared to last year

Jaipur: Increasing crime in trains continues to be a challenge for the railway administration. Incidents of crime in North Western Railway (NWR) shows that these have almost doubled as compared to last year. North Western Railway has been promoting state-of-the-art technology for passengers’ safety in trains. However, despite monitoring, statistics related to crime are shocking. Passengers are not getting a safe environment at major railway stations in all four divisions of North Western Railway i.e. Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner and Ajmer divisions. However, railway administration is continuously increasing the security arrangements at stations. Hi-tech CCTV (closed-circuit television) cameras, luggage scanners, dog squad and RPF (Railway Protection Force) are more prepared at Jaipur junction than before. Despite this, in 2022, almost double the number of crimes have been registered. Women can register complaints on 182 in matters related to security.
