NIA chargesheets two more Naxals in Naresh Bhokta murder case
New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has chargesheeted two more "dreaded" naxals in the 2018 Bihar case of the abduction and murder of Naresh Singh Bhokta by cadres of the banned outfit.
The agency filed the fresh chargesheet on Friday. The fourth supplementary chargesheet filed takes the total number of accused chargesheeted in the case to 11.
The two chargesheeted accused have been identified as Anil Yadav alias Ankush alias Lavkush of Gaya district of Bihar, and Pramod Mishra alias Sohan Da alias BB Ji of Aurangabad district of the state.
As per the NIA, both the accused were notorious Naxal terrorists with various criminal cases registered against them in different police stations of Bihar and Jharkhand under the Indian Penal Code, Arms Act and Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
The duo was arrested in the instant case in February this year by the NIA, which had taken over the investigation in June 2022.
NIA investigations have revealed that Pramod Mishra, then CCM and later Polit Bureau Member of the banned naxal organisation had directed other cadres of the terrorist group to eliminate civilian Naresh Singh Bhokta on suspicion of being a police informer.
Ankush, a Sub-Zonal Committee member of Naxals, was a close aide of Pramod Mishra and was actively involved in the case.
"Mishra had convened the meeting of Zonal commanders, SACs and RCMs of the banned outfit in the forest of Anjanwa, where it was decided to eliminate various SPOs, including Naresh Singh Bhokta," said the NIA.
The victim, Naresh Singh Bhokta, was abducted and killed by the naxal cadres on November 2, 2018.
