New energy policy to address power needs till 2050: Subodh

ACS Dr Subodh held meet with senior officers regarding new energy policy

Jaipur: The State Energy Department has started the exercise of formulating a new energy policy.

In a virtual meet, Additional Chief Secretary Energy Dr Subodh Agrawal addressed senior officers of Energy Development Corporation, CMD DISCOMs, Jaipur, Ajmer and Jodhpur DISCOMs, Renewable Energy Development Corporation, Rajasthan Vidyut Utpadan Nigam, PWC and related organizations in the secretariat regarding the new energy policy.

He said that the new energy policy would be finalized considering the demand, availability and supply of power in the state till the year 2050.

In the policy, along with uninterrupted power supply in domestic, agricultural and industrial sectors in the state, concerted efforts would also be made to provide electricity during the day for agriculture and supply of electricity to industries as per demand, he added.

ACS Dr Agrawal informed that CM Ashok Gehlot has announced to prepare and release energy policy 2021-2050 with the objective of providing adequate energy for 30 years.

According to the vision and intention of the CM, the department is preparing the proposed new energy policy.

Dr Agarwal informed that Energy Minister has also been emphasizing on ensuring uninterrupted and quality power supply system.
