Nawazuddin opens up about trolls comparing his Haddi look to Archana Puran Singh

Mumbai (Maharashtra): Nawazuddin Siddiqui is a method actor that knows how to essay a role to the T. The actor recently was seen in an unusual avatar that had fans go crazy over his transformation. Nawaz will soon be seen in the revenge drama, ‘Haddi’ and the makers freshly released the poster of the film. The Manto actor looked unrecognizable in his look for the film where he essays the role of a woman. Donning a silver shimmery gown, he completed his look with a wig, earrings, a bracelet and a silver ring.

But the actor has been constantly compared to Archana Puran Singh on the internet. Netizens claim that he looks exactly like the actress in his entire get-up. The meme also is trending on social media platforms and has had many meme pages cashing on it. Many even claim that Archana was the inspiration behind the Haddi look. He said, “If I am playing a female character, I need to think like a woman and that’s my test as an actor. Outfit, hair, make-up, yeh sab toh theek hai… that’s not my concern. There are experts to look into it and they know their job. Woh sab baahri cheezen hai and those will be taken care of. My concern is to get the internal thought process right. What do women think? What do they want? An actor’s job is to get into the head of the character he plays.”

‘Haddi’ directed by Akshat Ajay Sharma, will see the actor portraying the role of a woman and a transgender. The film will be in theatres by next year.
