Naqvi to be NDA’s VicePresidential candidate?

New Delhi: With NDA, especially BJP, backing Draupadi Murmu as its Presidential candidate and it being considered that Murmu is set to sail, without any trouble, past the dotted line in the Presidential polls, a new question is doing the rounds in the political circles in New Delhi. Now, all eyes are set on finding out who will be the Vice Presidential candidate of NDA? In this regard, knowledgeable sources have revealed that discussion of serious consideration on three names in BJP is going on at present among which are Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Hardeep Singh Puri and Suresh Prabhu.

Interestingly, Naqvi is being told to lead the race and the saffron party may play bets on Naqvi as the undisputed Muslim face while also uplifting its image on the international platforms. On the other hand, due to political reasons coming out of Punjab, the party can go ahead with Hardeep Puri which can be seen as a safe bet for damage control in view of farmers’ movement and AAP govt. and in view of seniority, consent can also be made in the name of Suresh Prabhu, who is a four-time Lok Sabha MP from Shiv Sena and joined the BJP and fulfilled the responsibility of the Railway Minister.

Now in view of Shiv Sena ‘Factor’ of Maharashtra, a former Shiv Sainik can get the responsibility of Vice President. Meanwhile, the BJP parliamentary board meeting will be held on Saturday for final decision in this regard during which the board will consider fielding or not fielding any Muslim candidate because a section of the BJP has a different opinion about this. It is believed that it will finally be Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and Mohan Bhagwat who will take the final decision.
