Monsoon Update: Following states to witness heavy rain for 4 days
New Delhi: A low-pressure area has formed in the Bay of Bengal, due to which heavy rainfall can be seen in Bengal, Jharkhand, Orissa, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Vidarbha and East Madhya Pradesh today.
In the next two-three days, the monsoon can advance rapidly in some parts of Central and East India and the national capital Delhi is likely to welcome rainfall over the weekend.
According to the Meteorological Department, after June 10, eastern India and adjoining central India, especially the Gangetic region of Odisha and West Bengal is likely to witness heavy rainfall. At the same time, on June 11, there is a possibility of heavy rain in East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh. The first low-pressure area of this monsoon has been prepared in the Bay of Bengal. Due to this effect, the monsoon will reach Odisha, Sikkim, Jharkhand, Bihar, East UP, MP and parts of Gujarat.
According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of extreme rainfalls at isolated places in Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Konkan, Goa, Coastal Andhra Pradesh today. Apart from this, heavy rains will occur at isolated places over Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Bihar, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Gujarat region, Telangana and Coastal Karnataka.
