MODI’S RATNA TRIO: NATION IN AWE!

New Delhi: Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian award, was Friday conferred on former Prime Ministers PV Narasimha Rao and Chaudhary Charan Singh as well as agricultural scientist MS Swaminathan.

Announcing the three awards on X, PM Narendra Modi lauded their many contributions to the country. Modi said for Rao, “Delighted to share that our former PM PV Narasimha Rao Garu, will be honoured with the Bharat Ratna. He is remembered for the work he did as CM of Andhra Pradesh, Union Minister, and as a MP and MLA for many years. “

Modi said for Charan Singh, “It is the good fortune of our government that former PM of country Chaudhary Charan Singh is being honored with Bharat Ratna.”

On MS Swaminathan, Modi said that he “played a pivotal role in helping India achieve self-reliance in agriculture during challenging times”.
