Main ek Fauji ka bacha hu, mere liye sab same hai: Vidyut Jammwal on Bollywood vs South

Mumbai (Maharashtra): Vidyut Jammwal is one of the leading action stars in India. He has not only exuded his charm in Bollywood but has a firm grip in the South film industry as well. Defying his action star image once again, Vidyut is coming up with his latest release Khuda Haafiz Chapter II Agni Pariksha which is the sequel of his previous hit OTT film, Khuda Haafiz. The Force actor has reprised his role as Sameer Chaudhary, a common man who will go to any lengths to save his love and family. The team of the film recently released the trailer of the sequel at a launch event. While talking to First India Filmy, the actor spoke about his struggle as an outsider, the South vs Bollywood row and the difficulties he faced while shooting the film among others.

The actor revealed his struggles in the entertainment industry as an outsider. The Junglee actor said, “When I first came to Bombay, I never thought that I would become a leading man let alone a producer, distributor and whatnot. But, above all that, I am trying to be a better man.”

Commenting on the close camaraderie he shares with the film director Faruk Kabir, Vidyut stated, “When I came to Bombay, I had heard that I need to work with this director and this producer to get big in the industry. So, I tried everything. But later in life, I realised that the only thing you need to do is find your tribe. A group that shares the same ideologies as you or someone from whom you can learn a lot. Faruk is that tribe for me.”

The actor also talked about the South vs Bollywood debate and how pan India films are now erasing the line of distinction. “It is the same. I can’t see the difference,” the actor mentioned. He further added, “Main ek fauji ka bacha hu. Jab humari Jammu & Kashmir mein posting thi tab Chennai regiment thi waha pe. So, mere liye sab same hai.”

When asked about the difficulties he faced while shooting the film, the actor disclosed, “Even during the first part, it was a story about a common man. When I asked Faruk who a common man is, he answered ‘somebody who has not fought ever in his life but was forced to due to circumstances’. Because I am a trained martial artist, whenever someone came to hit me, I used to naturally save myself by blocking the hand with martial art tricks. I had to make myself learn how to duck in fear just as a common man would do. So, for me, to be untrained was the most difficult thing.”

Khuda Haafiz Chapter II Agni Pariksha will release in the theatres on June 10. Starring Vidyut Jammwal and Shivaleeka Oberoi in the lead, it will trace the couple’s journey as parents.
