MAHA CM Shinde to call upon Modi, Shah and Nadda

Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde will tour New Delhi on Friday (as reported by First India in its Thursday issue) where he will call upon Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP National President JP Nadda. Shinde will camp in New Delhi for two days and also interact with senior legal counsel Mukul Rohatgi to discuss the forthcoming Supreme Court hearing in respect of the challenged disqualification of 16 Shine camp rebel Shiv Sena MLAs as well as his political formation’s challenge to the Deputy Speaker in the state legislature Narhari Zirwal on July 11.

The BJP team led by Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis, including BJP Maharashtra President Chandrakant Dada Patil (soon to be relieved of his organisational post so he can join the state cabinet of ministers), newly elected Vidhan Sabha Speaker Rahul, Ashish Shelar will also visit New Delhi. On Thursday Shinde met with Fadnavis to finalise the formula for the allocation of cabinet ministerial posts between the two political formations in charge of running the affairs of state for next two-and-a-half years.

According to a source, “The formula that Fadnavis has proposed ensures that crucial departments like Home, Revenue, Finance are retained by his party (Home dept will be Fadnavis’ personal domain). More importantly Fadnavis has proposed that for every ministry that his party will hold the Shinde led political grouping will be assured of the Minister of State portfolio with independent charge in 90 per cent of state government departments.”
