Lok Sabha expels TMC MP Mahua from House for ‘unethical conduct’

New Delhi: TMC leader Mahua Moitra has been expelled from LS on Friday following an Ethics Committee report into ‘cash for query’ charges against her. Moitra, 49, was accused of taking bribes, including `2 cr in cash, “luxury gift items”, from businessman Darshan Hiranandani, for asking questions critical of govt in Parl. After a tempestuous discussion and voice vote, Speaker Birla said, ‘This House accepts conclusions of Committee - that MP Mahua Moitra’s conduct was immoral and indecent.
