Lockdown-like curbs in Bihar; schools, colleges to shut till 21

Meanwhile National Health Mission officials debunks Bihar man’s claim of having taken 11 shots of vax

Patna/New Delhi: Amid rise in Covid cases, the Bihar govt has ordered to keep all schools, colleges, coaching centres, and hostels closed till January 21.

“All schools, colleges, coaching centres, and hostels will remain closed till Jan 21,” the Bihar govt said. The govt and private offices will function with a 50% attendance.

Earlier this week, the Bihar govt had imposed a fresh curb by implementing a statewide night curfew from 10 pm to 5 am from January 6 to 21.

Meanwhile, the National Health Mission officials have refuted a Bihar man’s claims of having taken 11 shots of COVID vaccine.

Union health authorities on Friday said that the CoWIN portal that is used for the COVID-19 vax process doesn’t allow multiple registrations on a single Aadhaar ID.

The clarification follows claims by an 84-year-old man in Bihar’s Madhepura district that he has taken 11 shots of the vax.

“As per records on Co-Win, only one person name Brahmdeo Mandal, age 85 has been jabbed, that too with a unique Aadhaar number.” NHM Director, Vikas Sheel tweeted. —with ANI inputs
