KRK arrested by Mumbai Police for insulting the dignity of two actors who passed away during the lockdown

Mumbai (Maharashtra): Kamal Rashid Khan is famous for the hilarious digs that he takes at several celebrities. The actor-cum-producer-cum-writer keeps himself busy with his movie reviews and celebrity roasts. But sometimes things go a little too far for him to handle and this is exactly what happened recently.

The actor was arrested by the police as soon as he arrived in the city and will be presented before the court later today. In a statement given to ANI, Mumbai Police stated, “Kamal Rashid Khan was arrested after he landed at Mumbai Airport. He will be presented before Borivali Court today.”

The reason behind his arrest is unclear but they are related to his controversial tweets about Rishi Kapoor and Irrfan Khan’s death during the lockdown. An FIR was registered against him in 2020 by Yuva Sena’s core committee member, Rahul Kanal.

“On April 30, Khan had allegedly taken to Twitter to announce Rishi Kapoor's hospitalisation and tweeted saying that the actor must not die as wine shops were set to open soon,” PTI quoted a police officer.

A senior police officer added, “We have registered an FIR against Kamal R Khan for making derogatory remarks about both the deceased actors under section 294 (punishment for obscene acts or words in public) and other provisions of the IPC.”

This is not the first time KRK, as he is popularly known has made such slew comments. He most recently came under fire after Virat Kohli confessed that he is suffering from depression. KRK claimed that Anushka Sharma was the reason behind it as she must have “put it in his head” as no other cricketer has ever made such statements.
