Kareena reveals her film with Rhea Kapoor is not the sequel of Veere Di Wedding

Mumbai (Maharashtra): Kareena Kapoor Khan has never been one to be affected by the success or failure of her films. She has star power that goes beyond her work and no matter where she stands in the industry today, she will always be everyone’s superstar Bebo. The recent disappointment of Laal Singh Chaddha came as a blow to the makers and Aamir Khan but Kareena has decided to now focus on her upcoming projects instead of dwelling on what happened.

It is public knowledge that she will be collaborating with her Veere Di Wedding maker Rhea Kapoor for another banger film. It was reported that Rhea is working on the script of the sequel to her 2018 film, Veere Di Wedding. The film that starred Kareena Kapoor Khan, Swara Bhasker, Sonam Kapoor and Shikha Talsania became a favourite women-centric story that resonated with many. Hence it was natural for fans to speculate that the actress and Rhea will come together for the Veere sequel.

Shutting down these rumours, Kareena cleared that the film is not a sequel of Veere but a fresh script altogether. Further adding, the Heroine star mentioned that it will be a women-centric film with another two actors of the decade. However, she did not mention the names of the actor but did reveal that they are on board after reading the script. “Rhea will make the announcement soon. The film is not about stars; instead, it’s about [strong] women coming together,” Bebo added. Lootcase (2020) director, Rajesh Krishnan will take on the project as the director.

On the work front, although Laal Singh Chaddha did not fare well at the box office, Kareena was praised for playing the role of Roopa, Laal’s childhood friend and companion. She is currently working with Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Varma on Sujoy Ghosh’s next thriller based on the Japanese book titled ‘The Devotion of Suspect X’.
