JMC Heritage: Councillors seek Mayor from minority

Jaipur: JMC Heritage councillors, independents, launched a signature campaign on Friday & more than 35 councillors have come to challenge existing mayor Munesh Gurjar.

More than 30 councillors have demanded changing mayor. Ministers and MLAs said that there is displeasure among the councillors with Gurjar as mayor.

There has been an insistence on making a minority councillor as the mayor. Minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas said that MLA Amin Kagji had told him about dissatisfaction.

“Some have also given signed letters and a meeting of the councillors will be held in a day or two,” he said.

Meanwhile, angry ministers and MLAs were learnt to have taken a soft stand for Mayor Gurjar after word spread that she has gone on back foot.
