Jharkhand's new police chief will be an ex-CBI officer!

New Delhi: Jharkhand Director General of Police Neeraj Sinha’s term is about to end and the state is about to get a new police chief. In Bihar, which is adjoining Jharkhand, firebrand police officer RS Bhatti has recently been made DGP. Similarly, in Jharkhand too, preparations are on to hand over the command of the police to a flamboyant officer. Keep in mind that last time there were many vicissitudes regarding the post of police chief and extremely high profile and flamboyant officer KN Choubey could not complete the tenure. When Neeraj Sinha was also made DGP, many questions were raised about him and a legal dispute also took place. The government is trying to avoid this also.

According to informed sources, the new police chief of the state could be an officer with CBI experience. Out of the three names for the police chief, two are those who have CBI experience. The names of Additional Director of CBI Ajay Bhatnagar and senior police officer Anil Palta, who was in CBI, are discussed. What will happen if either Bhatnagar or Palta becomes Jharkhand police chief ? Will this give some relief to the Hemant Soren government of the state? Keep in mind that many cases are going on against him in central agencies. However, earlier the name of SN Pradhan was also discussed, but now it is being said that his name is not in the panel. He is also on deputation to the Central Government. Apart from Bhatnagar and Palta, the third name is that of senior police officer AK Singh.
